A little more about Mark…
‘I’ve held pivotal roles both sides of the charity agency divide. At trailblazing charity Dogs Trust, I cut my teeth managing donor development and recruitment. At leading creative agency Whitewater I was Planning Director and worked with some great organisations, large and small. My role there – to drive their strategies forward and provide the deep insights and breakthrough propositions that would deliver powerful fundraising.
In 2010 I decided to branch out on my own. And I’m very glad I did! I take my work far more seriously than I take myself. I’m not precious. However excited I might get about new ideas or radical thinking, you’ll find me down to earth and focused on practical outcomes.’

‘My ten year journey charity-side led me from the Crisis Open Christmas, to fieldwork in the wilds of Ethiopia, to heading up the individual giving programme at Cancerbackup. It was there that my in memoriam and legacy work drew me to strategic planning and a brilliant, mind-expanding three years in the Whitewater Planning team. My personal experience as a Helpline and care volunteer – as well as years at the direct marketing coal face – have given me a passion for championing the needs of donors. I’m fascinated by people, what makes them tick and what makes them give. It’s from here that breakthrough strategies can be built. And having just taken some baby time-out, I’m delighted to be back with Moving Thinking.’
